Merry Gardeners was founded to share the joy of gardening, love of beautiful, healthy, creative gardens and the appreciation of high quality, well-cared-for tools. The interest in gardening came from my childhood. My parents were avid, successful gardeners. My mother had a thriving garden which produced many fresh vegetables for our family table. My father enjoyed experimenting with grafting of fruit trees. Due to my fathers success with the fruit, my brother and I were able to run a small fruit stand to make extra spending money. My parents seemed to have a natural talent with plants. However, their gardening talent did not transfer to me. I had many problems getting plants to survive, mostly from overwatering and insisting on putting plants in the wrong locations and conditions! It wasnt until I read many gardening books, studied plants, learnt from trial and error and gardening classes and became a master gardener that I started having consistent success.
